Frequently Asked Questions
What is HTML?
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is the uniform convention used to create and display pages on the World Wide Web. By tagging the text of your web pages with basic instructions, you can create content that can be read by anyone using a web browser. Besides HTML, there are additional scripting languages (VBScript, JAVA, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, etc.) and browser plug-ins (Quicktime, Flash, Shockwave, etc.) that allow you to further enhance the content and functionality available on your website.
Do I have to know HTML to make a web page?
No, although it is highly recommended. HTML is easy to learn and knowing it will give you a great foundation to utilize other Internet technologies.
